Day 7 - Shopping, walking, and driving!
Today started with us packing everything up and leaving the hotel. We drove to Goats on a Roof and saw a couple goats. There was a couple of stores, a grocery store, a small local produce store. We also went to a local café and some of us got drinks.
We then went for a small hike at Little Qualicum Falls. We crossed two bridges as we looked at the Falls and went to a bunch of viewpoints.
After we finished that walk, we headed to the Coombs Candy store where some people got ice cream. There were also dogs there from a local shelter looking to be adopted. Took some time to pet the puppies before walking across another “totally safe road”.
On the other side, we walked down a trail to see a hole in the wall. Many people even took off their shoes and put their feet in the water.
After that, we began our long drive of the day up to Tofino. Once there, we went to a beach where we met a woodcarver. After checking out his creations, we walked along the beach for a while.
We then arrived to our Hostel and changed before walking to the fancy dinner restaurant. After dinner we got our phones for an hour, which was really awesome. We got to call home before writing the blog post and heading to bed.
Don’t forget to comment!
Love you mom,
Ashiya

I can’t believe how many very safe roads there are in Victoria! I thought the hiking photos were gorgeous. My favourite though were the yummy dinner photos. It looked fancy. And it was nice too see everyone dressed up again. A highlight for us was hearing from Claire last night, and hear about the day in person! Hope you have an amazing last few days. Thanks Ashiya for todays blog!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a beautiful spot and the food looks amazing. Nice that you had another opportunity to dress up. It was great to hear from Elizabeth last night! I am excited to hear about the surf lessons in a few days.
ReplyDeleteYum, that food looks good.
ReplyDeleteIt was such a nice surprise getting a phone call from Kiera and Crystal last night. It was so good to hear their voices. It made my day. It sounds like you had another nice day. The goats on the roof is kind of cool. I’ve seen those. Going to another fancy restaurant is nice too. It’s not that often you get to get dressed up to go out to eat when you’re at home. Enjoy your last couple days. Hope you have fun.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ashiya for today's update! I have heard of the Hole in the Wall hike but have not visited it myself - I loved seeing the photos of your time there. The "fancy" dinner out looked lovely - the food looked delicious. Thanks to the leaders for giving the Rangers the chance to call home last night; it was great to hear Caroline's voice. Enjoy your sea kayaking today! Can't wait to hear about it tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteLove you too. Dinner looks yummy Cant wait to see you and talk to you more about your fun trip. Ace is missing you also. He went upstairs in your room and stayed there till I called him to come downstairs.
ReplyDeleteOmg the goats!!! That must have been so funny to see them up there.
ReplyDeleteThe Hole in the Wall is quite literally a hole in a wall and I, for some reason, laughed really hard at that. Haha
Your dinners looked amazing! Celeste, I hope you are getting your fill of seafood before moving back to Alberta on Saturday.
I absolutely love how much beach time you are getting!! Some people never get to experience the ocean so cherish it as much as you can.
Celeste, I’m looking forward to the 5 hour drive home on Wednesday so you can tell me EVERYTHING.
Another animal that probably doesn’t like Ungoys. It was good to hear from you (and your mother I guess) last night. Sounds like you are still having a blast and looking forward to seeing you in a couple days. Please behave or Crystal and Tara might consider leaving you with all the other animals you’ve seen
ReplyDeleteI got a little behind on the blog posts. Looks like you had a wonderful day, and it was really nice to see/hear from you!
