Hi everyone this is Celeste with todays post. First we got up at 7 am (some of us didn’t get up till 7:20) for an 8 am departure. Breakfast was a schmorgasbord of leftovers (and new this morning - cereal and milk option). I believe I ate enough tiny apricots to feed a small village. Our first stop was a kayaking tour. It was a bit early in the morning so Kiera told the instructors that she was "from Keira" rather than Edmonton. We all had a little laugh; the instructor’s names were Jess and Lauren. I was not nervous about tipping over in the boat (I say definitely not lying through my teeth). The kayaking itself was lovely; we had amazing views during low tide and saw much wildlife such as starfish, anemones, fried egg jellyfish, and bald eagles. Madeline was the first to spot a crab in the seaweed; Claire was envious, as she really wanted to see the crab as well but did eventually spot one herself. Sorry about the delay in the day 1 post… by the time we got in last night everyone was tired. Day 1 & 2 will be written and posted tonight! We did arrive safely and we had a great day will have to suffice for now.
Hello Parentals, I'm Sydney. This morning we woke up and put on our fancy clothes on the way to the Butchart Gardens. We walked around for 2 hours and saw really pretty flowers. There was a rose garden, a Japanese garden, a sunken garden and a star pond. Fun fact: the star pond was to house Mr. Butchart's ducks. At the end, most of us got gelato or sorbetto for a light snack. Then we went to the gift store and shortly left to the Empress. When we got to the Empress, we had a difficult time finding a parking spot, but eventually we spotted one. It was a bit tight though. We walked into the very very fancy hotel and got in line to be seated. The table was lower than expected. We tried and enjoyed six different types of teas including Lady Londonberry and Blue Suede Shoes. We were also served a lovely tiered platter of food (going bottom to top) to go along with our tea.
